Start off the evening with a sweet treat from Donells Candies for your date. Beginning in 1956 and becoming a downtown staple in 1995, Donells can claim the top candy making spot with three generations of candy makers who provide excellent customer service and fresh, quality products.
Donells creates treats that include homemade ice cream, candied popcorn, and, best of all, amazing chocolate. While Valentine’s Day is known for gifting chocolate dipped strawberries, homemade truffles, or divine toffee, we think any time of the year is a great time to sample the assortment of candies made by this local family business.

Nothing says date night like catching a movie. With three theaters within Downtown and walking distance of each other, you are sure to find the perfect movie any night of the week.
The historic Rialto Movie Palace was recently renovated to restore the 95-year-old oak floors and install comfy reclining seats. The America Luxury Movie Palace was treated to the same seat renovation as the Rialto and is the largest of the theaters with a 50-foot curved movie screen. The Fox III $ Savers Theatre shows movies at a discounted price and features three theaters, allowing you to choose from more movies.
With so many screens to choose from, you and your date are bound to agree on a great feature. If you are feeling ambitious, make it a double-feature kind of night!
Cap off the night with the coziness of the Rialto Soda Fountain. Located on the corner of 2nd and Center, this soda shop was re-opened last year by owners Rob and Vivian. A vision of turning the shop back into an old-fashioned soda shop paid off and brought back a piece of Casper history.
Enjoy a malt shake, milkshake, or piece of pie for dessert while sidling up to the soda fountain bar. If you are looking for a warm drink, a mulled apple cider, hot chocolate or coffee await. Dessert and drinks, including an old-fashioned cream soda and Italian soda are sure to end the night on a high note.
